Holbrook & Manter Celebrates Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon

Downtown Columbus and surrounding neighborhoods were alive this weekend, as walkers and runners alike took to the streets for the events put on as a part of the Nationwide Children’s Marathon. Not only was Holbrook & Manter a race sponsor, but a couple of our team members laced up their shoes and participated as well.
The weekend featured everything from a kid’s fun run to a 5k and a one-mile race. The streets were filled with 1/2 marathon and full marathon runners on Sunday, including our very own Mark Welp and Shirley Boatright. They both completed the full marathon, and we are in awe of them!
The marathon course here in Columbus is a popular and scenic one, winding through the streets of downtown and German Village, stretching out into the streets of Bexley, Upper Arlington and the campus of The Ohio State University.

Most of the miles on the course are represented by a patient at Nationwide Children’s, one is dedicated as an Angel Mile for the special children who have been taken too soon, and one is an “alumni mile” for Marathon Mile Champions from past years. These patients and their families were on hand beside every mile of the course to cheer on participants.

As race sponsors, our preparation for marathon weekend begins months before the actual events. This year, employees were able to make donations through their paychecks to help support our employee runners and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Thier donations were the doubled by the firm.

At Holbrook & Manter, we are a team of mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors and friends and we know that Nationwide Children’s Hospital is a phenomenal resource that the children in our lives have needed or could need at any given time.  This is why we are honored to continue to support them and their mission.
